This piece is very special to me as it is the test I did and got me into the Blankhans team as their new senior concept artist!
I was incredibly excited when I saw the theme of the test was about creating an environment in a world with a zombie outbreak... Call me in! I always wanted to do something on this theme
You may wonder why the cats. Well. In my opinion dogs would not last in a post apocalyptic world. As much as I love them they would run toward every zombie they see or just catch rabies from wild animals. Also feed them in order to keep them healthy would be extremely complicated.
On the contrary: cats would gather spontaneously in places where there is quiet and scraps of food. They could survive in part on what they can hunt and they would let you to die if a zombie were to appear suddenly, running towards their safety.
You don't have to worry about cats survival in your day to day apocalyptic life. They are your perfect pet to keep around while you try to survive.
